| | Thursday, 05 May 2011 |  In the short interviews with parents of children who were visiting Mohanam Cultural Center Kindergarden this year Christine found out which is the main reason for parents to choose this one over traditional schools in the area. On Friday annual performance young children of kidnergarden prepared rich cultural performance about the activities they were working on throughout the year. As usual, parents, friends, neighbors were there loudly encouraging young children to be brave on the stage.

| | Friday, 29 April 2011 |  Younger children of Deepanam School prepared for the end of the year their own unique presentation of their project works. The youngest ones were visiting Matrimandir, while elder were researching their own social and biological environment and others were busy by visiting services and work units of Auroville. Presentation was for their school friends, holders or representatives of units and services they visited and for teachers.

| | Wednesday, 13 April 2011 |  "Let this golden thread of music tie all of us together" was the leading note in the cultural program prepared by children of Deepanam School together with teachers. This program was a just a glimpse of what they've been doing trough school year. And indeed, in the leading tone of music they showed us different things - from classical Indian dance, trough theater play of African fairy tale, sung songs composed by children, compositions played on piano to capoeira in which children are very active on Deepanam School.

| | Thursday, 21 October 2010 |  “Chercher plus loin, toujours plus loin”, voici la philosophie d'Aurevan, 20 ans, et de Smiti, 19 ans, toutes deux étudiantes à «Last school» depuis 7 ans. Pour elles, il ne s'agit pas d'aller à l'école afin d'obtenir des diplômes, mais de vivre l'école et même la cité, comme des lieux d'apprentissage, et de progrès permanents. A “Last school”, la joie d'apprendre et la soif de perfection sont stimulées et nourries grâce a cette éducation particulière appelée: “Libre Progrès”. Ainsi, en 2009, Smiti et Aurevan ont-elles choisi de créer, avec 2 autres étudiants, leur propre exposition d'art à la Pyramide (école d'art d' AV).

Los niños tienen libertad y responsabilidad por su proceso de aprendizaje y están involucrados en el máximo de actividades posibles. Este es un programa muy interesante y que nos desafiá en nuestra manera de pensar la educación y el desarrollo de nuestros hijos.

| | Wednesday, 14 July 2010 |  Last year art installation of four students from Last school was used as an example of Free Progress in the book Passage, which was released on Monday 12th of June at Bharat Nivas by Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development. About the book, school and their aims we talked with those students. Amongst others they told us that in the idea of Free Progress, the main thing is progress, and free is just and adjective. They are also very much aware that freedom requires lot of constraint, responsibility, and self motivation because finally the result that you gonna get is the result you will get for yourself, and not for proving something to someone else. | | Tuesday, 13 July 2010 |  On Monday morning, 12th of July Bharat Nivas was joyfully crowded with many children and Aurovilians for the release of the book Passage made by Auroville teenaged students of Auroville as illustration of their educational growth and development. Shri Kapil Sibal, the Union Minister for Human Resource Development released the book with informal talk about education, and Auroville, which for him encompass within the spirit of the world, the spirit of human beings.. For him a thing of beauty is a joy forever, and the beauty is the discovery of the truth. But the road to discovery is not visible because we need to dwell into the soul and figure out what we are here for. And that's why he sees this particular publication Passage very emotive, because we are truly passengers. Read more
