Akash and Marco sketch a detailed picture of the Aurocard to the AVI members. The plan is as you know already in use, but not optimally. In this meeting, the unresolved difficulties around the card are discussed in detail. Every aspect regarding the Aurocard from technical details to the reactions of the guest houses are part of the discussion.

| | Wednesday, 28 December 2011 |  Aurelio sounded the Ring for the official opening of the new Svaram building. Puja interviewed him about this special day and its significance. He said that this particular building will serve as an exhibition place, storeroom and research space. Besides this Svaram has its first building on the outer ring road,. The new space replaces an old building that burnt down 3 years ago. It represents 1 degree of 360 degrees of the ring, and tries to invoke the original plan of Aruoville to manifest the symbol of the Galaxy plan.

| | Friday, 26 August 2011 |  On August 18 2011 the Budget Coordination Commitee (BCC) had a meeting at Cinema Paradiso. Lyle, a member of the BCC, presented the City Services Budget for 2011/2012.
He informed the participants of the budgeting process and demonstrated the total budget and its allocation for the upcoming year. Moreover he gave a comparative resume of the past budget allocations. Many came some even from fare to get to know about the inspiring social development projects that have been created here. During this occasion Uma, the founder of this unit, has shared how she has started Upasana in 1997 in a little hut with only one sewing machine and no electricity and how it developed into what it is today. It should secure sustainable grown produce by increase of our own production, which can be done only by the help of the community, by using land more efficiently, by a higher involvement of people in agriculture and by the change of the food habits. Not just the Farm Group but each key sector of the community needs to think of how to be sustainable, to increase awareness.

| | Monday, 18 April 2011 |  Auroville's Earth Day Week got its kick-off on Saturday April 16th with the Eco-Market at the Solar Kitchen. From 9:30 am to 1:30pm, over fifteen stands gave the opportunity to discover, taste, or buy eco-food or products such as recycled clothes and bags, bicycles at cheaper prices, solar lights, water filters or pesto, marmalade and pickles from Aurovillian eco-farms. Njal informed, yet again, on the petition against Endosulfan and on alternative solutions, selling a wide range of books regarding health and environmental issues as well. Everyone could share the on-spot fire-cooked food or register for any of the coming Guided Tours on Auroville's cycle trails offered during Earth Week.
